Michael Tait Steps Down as Newsboys Frontman After 15 Years
This week brought shocking news for Newsboys fans as longtime frontman Michael Tait announced his decision to step down from the band after 15 incredible years! Michael said this may come as a surprise to many since he’s been in a band touring since his college days. However, after a season of prayer and fasting, he has come to the heartfelt decision that it is time to step down from the Newsboys. Michael revealed that Matthew 6:33 has been a guiding scripture during this time: “Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness.” Trusting in that promise, he is seeking God’s direction for what’s next. In a statement released from the Newsboys, they thanked Michael for all he has meant to them and the band. But they let their fans know that the “Worldwide Revival Nights” tour would still kick off as planned! In fact, on the first night of the tour last weekend, Adam from the band told the audience “The Messenger may change, but the message of Newsboys will remain the same!”
