Inspiring End of Summer Reads

This summer has been the perfect time to dial back and focus on quality time with family and friends, enjoy the outdoors & curl up with a good book! Our host, William Ryan’s wife, Christy, loves to read and during these crazy times has found some solace in a few great reads this season and we wanted to share them with all of you!

“I Am Redeemed: Learning to Live in Grace” by Mike Weaver

I Am Redeemed is all about Mike Weaver’s life and his personal struggles and failures, bringing to light everything from his battle with self-hatred to the near-death of his brother and bandmate. Mike, the lead singer of Big Daddy Weave, openly shares the lessons he learned in the lowest points of his life when he was feeling isolated and rejected, and when that turned into a breakthrough with God feeling loved, set free & redeemed.

“In Unison: The Unfinished Story of Jeremy and Adrienne Camp” by Jeremy Camp

After devastating loss and time of deep reflection, while he was on tour, Jeremy Camp met Adrienne, the lead singer of another band. Unexpectedly, the two built a friendship that has now evolved into 15 years of marriage filled with joy, hardships & everything in between.

In Unison is the story of the lessons they’ve learned in love and marriage told from each of their voices. They vulnerably share the highs and lows of life together and offer practical advice for how to deal with conflict, manage finances, move through grief, and work to build your own family culture. You can’t do marriage without Jesus, and when you keep Him in the middle, together, you can build a lasting love.

“Eye of the Storm: Experiencing God When You Can’t See Him” by Ryan Stevenson

Ryan Stevenson’s breakout hit “Eye of the Storm” was an overnight success, but his path to releasing that song was decades in the making.

In Eye of the Storm, Ryan shares life events that have shaped his relationship with God. From his insecurity with self-image, to his grief and fear during his mother’s lengthy battle with cancer, to his high-stress days working as a paramedic, Ryan describes the many ways his faith was tested—and how each trial helped him become more reliant on Christ.

Let us know if you’ve read any great books lately, we’d love to hear about them!
