Hit Song “Because He Lives” by Bill & Gloria Gaither Turns 50

It was the end of the 1960s and Bill and Gloria Gaither were expecting their third child. There was so much chaos in the world that it felt like it was falling apart. Gloria was anxious and full of fear at the thought of bringing another child into this world and then suddenly out of nowhere, she was filled with a gentle peace. It was as if the Lord came to rescue her from her panic and replaced that panic with calmness and assurance that the future would be bright and that He had great plans.

That moment led to the writing of one of the most famous Christian songs of our time, “Because He Lives” which was released 50 years ago this year!
