The Top Most Read News Story From 2024

Each week on the show we share the top three news stories about Christian music artists that we think you need to know!

Sometimes it might be an artist getting married, or a new baby that joined their family, or they are heading out on tour, or have written a new book.

But, for our special year end show, we thought it would be fun to look back on what YOU thought were the biggest stories of 2024.  So, we went here to our website and looked at which stories were the most read all year…

And with three stories each week, that means out of about 150 stories for 2024, these were your top favorites! And since this is our Year End Countdown Show, naturally we have to count these top three stories down!

The story that you were the most interested in for all of 2024 was a second story about For King + Country! Yes, the top two most read stories on our website all year were about these brothers and the movie and music from Unsung Hero!

There have not been many times when a movie has been made on the life story of a Christian artist, so here at 20 The Countdown Magazine, our team was so excited about the movie Unsung Hero!

If you have not seen it yet, it is the story of what it was like for Joel and Luke, from For King + Country, their sister, Rebecca St. James, and their parents and siblings when they packed up the entire family and moved from Australia to America!

And the crazy thing is, our host, William Ryan III, remembers over 20 years ago when the Smallbone family pulled up in their RV at the radio station he worked at here in Dallas.  Rebecca St. James was early in her music career, and Joel and Luke were just kids.  So, to see a movie about all that God was doing “behind the music” is really cool.

Rebecca St. James says her family was blown away with the outpouring of support from the 1,700 people that attended the movie premiere in Nashville.  The Smallbone family’s prayer was that Jesus would be glorified through their story in the film.

And wow!  That prayer was answered!  The Smallbone family generously sent us lots of tickets to give away to our listeners, and we heard from so many of you how impacted you were by this movie!

But, the good news is if you did not have a chance to watch in theaters earlier this year, Unsung Hero is now available for streaming.
