Amy Grant Performs on Good Morning America

Last week, Christian music icon, Amy Grant performed her hit, “Every Heartbeat,” on ABC’s Good Morning America.

She joins Robin Roberts for this interview during February’s American Heart Month to bring awareness to cardiovascular health and she shares a positive update since her open heart surgery last summer, “I feel fantastic. I just have this feeling like this is going to be the best year yet.”

Amy shared last year about what led to needing open-heart surgery. She had an irregular heartbeat for over 10 years that became more straining on her breathing as time went on. While at an appointment with her husband, Vince Gill, his doctor recommended some tests that ultimately resulted in the findings of a genetic birth defect. Untreated, the results could have been catastrophic. She now is very grateful for the discovery of the defect and she described her recovery from surgery as “miraculous”.
